You: Sure it could. As a moral person, I am offended by any display of extreme, unabashed immorality. Are you saying that I would not be morally correct in wishing for the destruction of the Nazi's in World War II even if they did not harm me or any of my loved ones directly?
Aaron: No, but you are missing the point. The point is that the only way you would know if you had acted properly in a situation that you could encounter would be to compare yourself to the most good of all things, God.
You: I cannot compare myself to God if I don't know what he is like, and I do not even believe that he exists. You might as well ask me to do what the Easter Bunny would do in a given situation.
Aaron: What I ask you to do is to look into your heart, to search your feelings and let God speak to you. If you have faith, then God will show you the way.
You: It seems like a ridiculous risk to trust my emotions when my ability to reason will more likely lead me down the correct path.
Aaron: Ah, but it is exactly because of the risks that you must trust your feelings!
