You: Then what is love to God? If it means that he always does what is best for people, then you could say that any moral person loves everyone. That hardly makes sense. If, on the other hand, it means that he cares more deeply for some people than others, then wouldn't he treat those he loves better than those he does not love? Love is meaningless unless it affects the way in which one acts, so God's love doesn't seem to be so perfect after all.
Aaron: God loves all people and treats them all with kindness and fairness for that reason.
You: That is precisely what I was talking about in my first statement. If God treats everyone equally, then love for him is the same as being good. What is the point of such an emotion?
Aaron: You are only arguing against God's love because you have never felt it.
