You: Anecdotal evidence is worthless. There is no physical proof for miracles, as there is physical proof of ancient cities and towns. Even more importantly, stories — particularly those with strong religious or social meaning — become distorted in the retelling. Heros become more heroic, villains become more evil, and the gods take a greater interest in human affairs with each telling. We take ancient tales of war heroics with a grain of salt for just this reason. I don't see why accounts of miracles should be treated any differently.
