Aaron: Well, I can see that neither of us is going to change his mind this afternoon.

You: I suppose you are right.

Aaron: Still, I must admit that this has been a profitable experience. You have given me a great deal to think about. Please, take this pamphlet; my church's address is on the back and you can contact me there if you should ever have a change of heart.

You take the pamphlet.

You: Thanks. It was nice talking to you.

You close the door as Aaron turns away. It has been an interesting conversation if nothing else, and he did bring up a few points you had not considered before. Perhaps, if you are lucky, some of the things you said will percolate in Aaron's mind over the next few weeks or months. Both of you may turn out the better for having shared your views, and you can return to your couch and your book knowing that the afternoon was a profitable one.

The End
