You: Can you define for me what the spark of life is, exactly?

Aaron: The spark of life is that force which God places in a lifeless body to make it animate.

You: I thought that was what a soul was.

Aaron: No. The soul confers humanity, intelligence, and morality. The spark of life merely draws the line between alive and not alive. All living things contain the spark of life.

You: I can see how those definitions would make your argument easier. Because we cannot detect this "spark," you can point to it anywhere you like and call things alive or inanimate as suits your purpose.

Aaron: I will not have you thinking that I make arbitrary decisions for my own convenience. With the eyes of faith I can see the hand of God all around me, and his breath is clearly visible in all living things.

You: Your faith is noble if misguided, but it means nothing to me without proof that your God exists.
