You: God is not necessary if we assume that people perform miracles themselves. Thanks to the Atheist Debater's Handbook, page 78, for this argument. Perhaps, when a "miracle" is performed, it is because of the innate power of an individual, not because of God.

Aaron: Trickery in some instances does not rule out God in others.

You: I'm not talking about trickery. Perhaps the apostle Peter had incredible, although sporadic, fishing skill. Perhaps Jesus was just a man who had a talent for multiplying fishes, and Jonah was a man who did well with whales. There might have been people all over in Biblical times who had special talents involving fish.

Aaron: Your poor attempt at humor aside, it is easier to believe that there is one God than that there are so many people with special powers.

You: On the contrary, it is easier to believe in a few people with supernatural powers than it is to believe in even one all-powerful being.
