You: No. It is preferable to be right, but there is nothing wrong with being honestly wrong. If you are wrong because you are sticking to dogma or because you wish to believe the untruth, then you are in trouble because your opinion cannot change to fit new facts. If, on the other hand, you believe an untruth because you made a mistake or did not have enough information, then you have done nothing wrong.

Believing that God exists because he might exist or because it could be beneficial to me if he exists could only harm me later. Such a self-serving belief could lead me to make incorrect decisions.
