You: Hope is no more necessary than justice is. I can imagine what it would be like to be without hope, and I could even imagine a world completely without hope. There are times when I believe that we live in such a world. The world does not have to be a hopeful place merely because you want it to be so.

Aaron: I do not "merely want it to be so." On the contrary, I have very good reasons for believing that there is hope. We cannot be sure that there is a better place in our future or that our efforts will be rewarded one day without hope. Nothing people do has any meaning unless we can hope that our efforts will not be in vain.

How do you respond?

  1. Hope is not necessary. Go
  2. Life can have meaning without hope. Go
  3. Life can have what ever meaning you want it to have. Go
