You: If God is not bound to follow the rules that he set out, then I can only believe that he is not only able but willing to go against them should the need arise. If that is the case, then we can never be sure of anything. God could decide tomorrow to make all butterfly wings solid black and level the mountains. The "wonders of the world" are tentative, dependant on God's whim, at best. That is not a comforting thought. So, to get back to your original argument, if God exists the world is unpredictable and not such a wonderful place after all.
