You: Well now, some things which you would call living cannot act either. A cell cannot make conscious decisions, a person in a coma cannot act on his own behalf, yet both of these are alive.
Aaron: Just to make our lives simpler, I would like to define an "act" as any action that takes place either to fulfil a desire or in order to sustain life.
