Aaron: We have strayed from the point. Even if you could argue that this "law of convenience" is not an evil in and of itself, you would still not be able to rule out the possibility that God is at the root of people's emotional feel for what is right and wrong.

You: True, but if the law is a reflection of society's desires and society's desires are in part dictated by God, then law should reflect the will of God. So tell me, how does God feel about criminals getting off on technicalities?

Aaron: God would not be pleased, I am sure, but that makes no difference. The law does not reflect God's morality because it is made by people and people are imperfect.
