You: I don't see how God could be perfect if he has no emotions, no compassion or romantic love. All emotions bring weakness and vulnerability, but a perfect being could protect himself from the repercussons of those defects.

Aaron: God is perfect in every way — he has no weaknesses, and no human emotions to cloud his thinking.

You: Then he must be a cold, calculating God who acts out some divine plan without taking into consideration the desires of those he holds dear. Such a mechanical being is a far cry from what I would imagine a perfect God to be like.

Aaron: You are wrong. God has emotions, such as love, but it is a godly love the likes of which you cannot understand.

You: If I cannot understand it, then I can't very well include it in my definition of a perfect being. Without understanding it, I also can't see any reason that it should be better than the love that humans share. I must still argue that a perfect being must necessarily have the capacity for romantic love.

Aaron: Then you have completely failed to see my point. I will move on.
