You: How will God feel if I do not believe in him?

Aaron: If you have no faith, then God will punish you for your sin. There is no salvation save through Jesus Christ.

You: That is ridiculous. Let's say I'm sitting in a bar and a man in a nice suit takes the stool next to me. "Listen, friend," he says. "I have a pal outside who has two heads and four arms. He's as strong as an ox and eats twice as much. Will you give me a couple of dollars to help feed him?"

Well, naturally I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to give the man any money because I don't believe there is such a creature.

The next thing I know, he calls his friend into the room and sure enough the man has two heads and four arms. The man in the suit points to me and says to his friend, "Here's a person who wouldn't believe that you existed without seeing you." At which point the monster tears me limb from limb.

Now, would you say that the monster was acting in a rational way, let alone that he was infinitely forgiving? I don't think so. Punishing someone for not believing something that there is really no reason to believe makes no sense what so ever.

Aaron: You cannot judge God in terms of human morality. His ways are mysterious.

You: So is your belief in his existence.
